Default Confused about payment options?

So I've been looking all over the internet for the last two hours, including here, and the NCsoft site and everywhere - they give about three or four options for payment from the in-game store. The only one I could possibly do is a PaySafeCard because I don't have a credit card. But what IS a Paysafecard and where would you find one in Canada? I tried checking Electronic Boutique's site but they had nothing displayed like that...

Anyway, I could go pop in there and ask, but if anyone knows! That would be helpful.

not sure what PaySafeCard is, but you can try netSpend, who issues prepaid Visa/Mastercard licensed debit cards that function in place of a credit card (well that applies to most debit cards actually).

If you're a Royal Bank customer (dunno about the others), you can get a pre-paid VISA gift card from them that you can use. Denominations are $25, $50 and $100, as I recall. They're also sold on the gift card rack at, if you have one, Sobey's. Don't think the Real Canadian Superstore/Loblaw's carries them, though, at least I don't recall seeing any there. Never looked too hard, though.

I used one myself a little while back to buy a costume pack from the City Of Heroes portion of the store, so it'll definitely work if you get one. Just remember there's a small fee ($3.95 for the $25 one, a little higher for greater denominations) to buy the card itself, and a 2.5% surcharge in on the exchange rate (for example, the pack I bought cost $9.99 US, but I was charged $12.61 CAD on the card). The only annoyance is that you have to register at the site (the card comes with an instruction sheet) to give your name and address and such, like you would've had to give when a real credit card's issued. It also can't be used for recurring subscriptions and suchlike, but is perfectly fine for the various 1-offs in the store.

Thanks for the replies. Those pre-paid cards seem to charge fees and require that you keep filling them or charge you regardless? I'm not sure if I could get the one you suggested, but I found a site with a whole lot of them listed here: http://dan.matan.ca/Canadian-Prepaid...ws-Information

I just want something I can use to purchase with one time that isn't going to require me to sign some kind of stupid contract and then charge me. Does that exist? I thought maybe that Vanilla one would but according to the site there it sounds like they charge you fees even if there isn't a balance remaining? Or I need to read into it better. It annoys me that A-net won't accept cheques or e-cheques.

VISA gift cards are one-time payments - what you pay at the cashier (the face value plus the $3.95-$5.95 fee, depending on denomination) is all you pay. They are non-refillable. It can't be used for recurring subscriptions (ie, to pay your monthly fees) for NCSoft games (not that that applies in GW's case), but can be used for any one-shot payments at the NCSoft store: digital versions of the retail boxes (Prophecies/Factions/Nightfall, Trilogy version, etc.), skill unlock packs, the Fire Imp, Game of the Year bonus weapons etc....
